Start your day immersed in connection, movement and place with our South Parklands Morning Tour, an inspiring exploration of therapeutic landscapes in action. We begin with a guided visit to the Secateurs Community Garden at St Andrews Hospital, where you’ll experience how shared spaces cultivate belonging, wellbeing and community connection.
The journey continues with a tranquil exploration of the Himeji Gardens, where thoughtful design, cultural expression and sensory experience come together to support reflection and calm. Whilst there, ease into an outdoor Tai Chi session, offering a moment to slow down, ground yourself and connect with nature through gentle movement, embodying the principles of therapeutic horticulture in practice.
We conclude at the Walyu Yarta Community Garden, a vibrant and evolving space that showcases the power of community-led growing, cultural connection and inclusive practice. This guided morning offers a rich, multi-layered experience, connecting people, plants and place while bringing the conference theme Growing Connections to life.

Immerse yourself in design, philosophy and cultural connection in our Afternoon Tour, a curated journey through some of Adelaide’s most inspiring garden spaces. We begin at the Diggers Shop, where you’ll hear firsthand about the Diggers philosophy, exploring their approach to heritage seeds, sustainability, and the deep connection between people, food and the land.
From here, enjoy a guided walking tour of the Mediterranean Garden, where climate-responsive planting and considered design showcase how landscapes can thrive while supporting biodiversity and sensory experience. The tour continues into the Kitchen Garden, offering insights into productive growing, seasonal cycles and the role of food gardens in fostering wellbeing, learning and everyday connection to nature.
We conclude with a rich and reflective Cultural Tour of the Botanic Gardens, deepening our understanding of place, history and the enduring relationship between people and landscape. This afternoon experience brings together horticulture, design and cultural storytelling, capturing the essence of Growing Connections through plants, knowledge and shared experience.
